The BTEC Level 2 Information Technology Student Handbook 2026–2027 is a practical course guide designed to support students throughout their studies at Croydon College.
The handbook brings together essential information about the programme, including the units students will study, assessment and examination preparation, timetables, important dates, recommended learning resources, enrichment activities and progression opportunities.
Students will develop knowledge and practical skills across areas including The Online World, Technology Systems and Website Development. Topics include internet technologies, online communication, data exchange, computer hardware and software, networking, HTML, website design, development and testing.
The handbook is also designed to encourage students to become more independent and organised learners. It provides space for target setting, reflection, assessment planning and monitoring progress throughout the academic year.
Alongside classroom learning, students are encouraged to develop the digital, communication, problem solving, teamwork and employability skills needed to progress successfully to further study, apprenticeships or employment within the IT and digital industries.
This is more than a course handbook. It is a student guide for staying organised, tracking achievement and making successful progress throughout BTEC Level 2 Information Technology.
